NPAT and IP/MPLSView training topics
This multi-day course is intended for network managers, network designers, network planners, and voice and data analysts charged with the task of design, planning and managing a wide area network (using the appropriate technology to be covered here). The first two days of the class covers the basics of NPAT and IP/MPLSView. The third day will be vendor/technology/model specific.
During the hands-on portion of the class, students will get the chance to utilize the tool to design, simulate, and analyze wide area networks through selected examples.
Basic topics to be covered:
- Networking terminologies which apply (ATM,Frame Relay,TDM,IP-MPLS,BGP,IGP,PNNI)
- Theory and operation
- Parameter setting
- Reporting
- Minimal cost design
- Diversity design (network resiliency)
- Failure simulation/analysis
- Path placement simulation
- Bottleneck analysis
- Traffic loading analysis
- Performance considerations
- Forecasting
- Tariff database integration
- Tariff database creating/modifying
- Transmission line pricing
- Java interface
- Graphic exporting
