WANDL NPAT addresses Simulation from two perspectives: Routing Simulation and Failure Simulation. The two are closely related as they are integral parts of the planning process.
NPAT's Routing Simulation engine allows the user to analyze how various traffic flows will route in the network topology given the configured routing protocols. This can be used for both baseline analysis of the current network, as well as capacity planning for the medium and long term evolution of the network.
Failure simulation involves a multi-step process where specific network elements (nodes, links, cards, etc.) and/or logical groupings (facilities, SRLG, etc.) are taken out of service and the impacted traffic flows rerouted, if possible. NPAT manages the new routes as well as link bandwidths.
