Network Health Audit (Integrity Checks)

A critical component of each network audit, the Network Health Audit module includes an extensive set of built-in rules that automatically flag potential misconfigurations or inconsistencies among configuration files. WANDL's Network Health test is one of the most frequently and repeatedly performed tasks. It can be scheduled to run periodically, generating all the reports you need automatically. Our reports are relevant and targeted, another reason why people prefer our Network Health module.

You need this if:
  • You need an organized way of auditing network health.
  • You do not want to leave chance to human error. Manual misconfigurations are too costly and difficult to detect.

Traffic Matrix Solver

In order to perform most design or simulation studies in your network model, you need to have an end-to-end traffic matrix on hand. If you don't have that data available, it's not a problem! WANDL's Traffic Matrix Solver, "T-Solve", uses advanced heuristics to intelligently derive one or more plausible end-to-end traffic matrices for your use. As input, it simply takes measured interface statisticss. Extra information can also be provided to influence T-Solve to choose a solution that better fits the characteristics of your network.

You need this if:
  • You do not have complete end-to-end traffic flow data, but need to perform design, optimization, and simulation studies.

Device Inventory

This power feature enables users to keep track of equipment inventory, usage, and costs. It provides detailed logical views of the router system, chassis (shelf/slot/card/port), as well as near real-time interface status and information. Within IP/MPLSView, the inventory is automatically constructed from multi-vendor router equipment data, and can be refreshed in real-time.

You need this if:
  • You wish to manage your equipment resources efficiently.

Backbone Topology Design

This advanced module automates a network design either from scratch or incrementally on top of an existing network using forecasted traffic data. Tariffs or pricing data can be incorporated for least-cost topology designs. You can also specify a level of survivability (e.g. any single node, card, link, SRLG, etc. failure) to ensure network robustness in the event of any of these failure scenarios.

You need this if:
  • Your network is reaching capacity and you need to determine where to add new trunks.
  • You wish to cut costs, by pruning unnecessary trunks.
  • You have critical traffic on the network and need to ensure sufficient capacity to reroute these flows in the event of outages.

MPLS Traffic Engineering (MPLS-TE)

For anyone with an MPLS-enabled network or planning to deploy MPLS in their network, the MPLS-TE Modeling Pack is a must-have. It's comprehensive set of capabilities include:
  • Multi-layer, Multi-vendor modeling
  • Addition and modification of tunnels and tunnel properties, quickly add a full-mesh of tunnels
  • Automated extraction of MPLS tunnel details from device configuration files and "Show" CLI commands, spreadsheet data, or manual input.
  • Network Outage Simulation across both MPLS and IP layers
  • MPLS LSP Path Calculation
  • Network Grooming of tunnel paths that have become suboptimal over time
  • Automated End-to-end Path Protection Design and Simulation for Secondary/Standby Paths
  • Automated Fast Reroute (FRR) Backup Tunnel Design and Simulation

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

In the Design & Planning Suite, the VPN Technologies modeling pack supports automated extraction of VPN details from device configuration files, from spreadsheet data, or from manual entry via the user interface. Special VPN topology views are automatically constructed along with detailed VPN reporting. A VPN Wizard also guides the user step-by-step in creating and editing VPNs via the graphical interface. IP/MPLSView supports Layer 2 Martini and Kompella, Layer 3 VPN, and VPLS.

Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)

This advanced modeling pack supports the following functionalities:
  • Automated extraction of BGP details from device configuration files, spreadsheet data, or manual entry
  • Detailed Reporting and Special Map for EBGP, IBGP, Hierarchical Route Reflection, BGP Confederations
  • Detailed BGP Neighbor Analysis
  • BGP Routing Analysis and What-If Studies involving BGP policy changes or the addition of new BGP peers
  • Customized link utilization and node traffic reports

Multicast

This module supports the modeling of multicast: PIM-DM, PIM-SM, PIM-SDM, Bi-directional PIM, Source Specific Multicast (SSM), Reverse Path Forwarding (RPF), Shared (RP) and SPT Distribution Trees, Static RP and Anycast RP. Multicast details are automatically extracted from configuration files, spreadsheet data, or manual entry and Multicast Distribution Trees and Shared Trees can be instantly viewed on IP/MPLSView's powerful protocol maps. The Multicast Modeling Pack also enables you to:
  • Simulate multicast flows based on user-definable multicast group and demands.
  • Simulate the effect of RP selection on distribution tree and link utilization.
  • Simulate SPT switchover.
